The Bucharest Architecture Annual 21st edition, 2023 will take place between September 1, 2023 and December 18, 2023. The curatorial team of this year's Annual is made up of PhD Arch. Iris Popescu and Arch. Mihaela Șerban, representatives of AMAIS (Association of Alternative Methods of Social Integration). The curatorial theme of this year's edition is Inclusive Bucharest. The curators, together with the organizing team, aim to start a conversation about the accessibility of the built environment through the Bucharest Architecture Annual 2023 through a series of actions that will bring together the most diverse social and professional categories. The goal is to generate a moment of introspection on the subjects of accessibility and inclusion in relation to Bucharest's public space. @ The World Bank in Bucharest. Through this initiative, the World Bank team supports the efforts of the Department for Emergency Situations (DSU) and the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) in preparing people with disabilities for disaster situations. The goal is to develop an inclusive course to help individuals with disabilities identify their needs in case of a disaster and create customized safety strategies for the emergency teams. I was invited to represent AMAIS and to discuss accessibility requirements for the built environment in disaster situations. My primary focus was on prevention, specifically exploring ways for authorities to place greater emphasis on accessibility when issuing operating permits.
